Onion (part 2)

Today I will continue Onion's story.

July 12: Yesterday I started out on my trip. I am heading from Puerto Ayacucho to Ciudad Guayana. Last night I slept over at Star Watcher's hideout - a popular resting place for traveling capybaras. Wings has some friends who live around there, so she went off to spend the night with them. The capybaras who live at Star Watcher's hideout provided a yummy dinner of roasted mangoes wrapped in river grasses.

Early this morning, I packed my bag while there was still fruit left to pack. I trudged through the forest and knocked on Jess's tree. Jess is Wings' friend. Jess was so startled, she almost fell out of her tree! But Wings grabbed her and told her that I was her friend, Onion. After introducing ourselves, Jess decided to come along with us. She packed her bags from her rather large supply of walnuts, Brazil nuts, and pecans. After she packed her bags, we walked as far as we could go. We finally stopped to camp along the river. It's dinner time. Goodbye!
